Guidelines for Renters

Guidelines for Groups Using Chamberlin House for Functions:

Check your meeting date, make payment for rent and secure key from the House Scheduler: Maleeka Lloyd at 491-2653.

If refreshments are to be served, please bring your own paper cups, plates, napkins, silverware, etc. You may wish to supply a decorated tablecloth for a special event.

The thermostat is on a permanent setting. Please do not change it, as it will cause damage to the monitor. In hot weather, windows may be opened or you may use the air-conditioner.

If you are using a projector or the VCR, use an outlet other than the one on the timer. This lamp is never unplugged! Do not turn it off, even when you leave.

There is no smoking anywhere in the house. Wine and beer may be served but no hard liquor is allowed.

After the meeting:

  • Replace chairs in the closet according to the pattern on the back (either a square or a diamond shape).

  • If card tables have been used, please put them back according to instructions: legs on legs and tops on tops. Otherwise they will not fit.

  • Move other furniture back to its original position.

  • If you brought food or drink, take leftovers with you.

  • Take your trash with you - please do not leave it for our residents to handle.

  • Pick up crumbs from the carpets. There is a hand sweeper in the closet between the kitchen and living room (opposite the stairway).

  • Turn out all lights except the living room and kitchen lamps on timers.

  • Be sure to turn off the front porch light before locking the front door.

  • Be sure that windows are closed and locked before you leave.

  • Check to see that no faucets are left dripping.

  • Check both doors from the outside to make sure they're locked.

  • Put the key through the front door slot in an envelope with your name on it, so that we know it has been returned.

If anything has been broken, damaged or is not working properly, please report it to the House Scheduler: Maleeka Lloyd at 491-2653.

We hope this checklist is helpful and that you have enjoyed your visit to Chamberlin House and will come again.
